Deleting a Server
When you no longer need a server, you can delete it permanently. This is different from stopping it.
Stop vs. delete
| Action | Effect | Billing | Data |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stop | Pauses the server | Paused (not charged) | Kept — you can start again |
| Delete | Removes the server for good | Stops permanently | Gone — cannot be recovered |
If you just want to stop paying for now, stop the server instead — see Pausing Billing by Stopping.
Deleting a server
- Open the server from your Console.
- Choose Delete and confirm.
- The status changes to Deleting while we tear down the machine and clean everything up.
This can't be undone
Deleting permanently removes the server and its save data. Make sure you've backed up anything you want to keep first — see Recovering Save Data.
Billing after deletion
A deleted server stops charging entirely. You're only ever billed for time a server was actually running before it was deleted.
