Factorio is efficient, but big modded factories can get demanding. If your base grows or you add lots of mods, resize up.

You can configure options such as the server name, description, maximum players, a password, and various game rules. See Editing Game Settings.

How to connect
In Factorio, choose Multiplayer → Connect to address and enter your server's IP and port
34197. The address is on the server's instance page — see
Connecting & Inviting Players.
Mods
Factorio supports mods through its Mods blade. You search the Factorio Mod Portal, select the mods you want, and they're installed when the server next starts.
- Factorio downloads mods using your own Factorio Mod Portal account, so the Mods blade asks for your Factorio username and token.
- Adding mods to a running server requires a restart (you'll be asked to confirm).
- Mods add CPU/RAM load — add a few at a time and resize up if needed.
