How Pay-As-You-Go Works
RentGameServer.gg uses a prepaid, pay-as-you-go model. Instead of a recurring subscription, you top up a credit balance and your servers spend from it while they run.
The basics
- 1 credit = 1 unit of your currency. If your wallet is in USD, 1 credit = $1. If it's in IDR, 1 credit = Rp 1. There is no hidden conversion.
- You buy credits in advance. See Buying Credits.
- Running servers charge by the hour. Each server has its own hourly rate based on the game, region, and size you chose.
How a server spends your credits
- When you create or start a server, it charges one full hour upfront.
- While it runs, it charges again at the start of each new hour.
- When you stop the server, billing pauses — any unused time you already paid for is banked and restored the next time you start it.
- If your balance is too low to cover the next hour, the server is gracefully stopped (your data is kept) rather than charging you a negative balance.
Think of it like a parking meter: you feed it for the hour, and if you leave early the remaining time is saved for later instead of being lost.
What affects the hourly rate?
| Factor | Effect on price |
|---|---|
| Game | Heavier games need more powerful hardware, so they cost more per hour. |
| Region | Prices vary slightly by data-center location. |
| Size / tier | Larger sizes (more CPU and RAM) cost more per hour. |
You always see the exact hourly rate before you confirm a server, and again whenever you resize it. Continue to How Hourly Billing Works for the full details.
