Running Out of Credits
Pay-as-you-go is designed so you can never be charged into a negative balance. Here's what happens when you run low.
Your balance can't go negative
A running server charges one hour at a time. Before each charge, we check whether your balance can cover it:
- If it can, the hour is charged and the server keeps running.
- If it can't, the server is gracefully stopped instead of charging you.
Graceful stop, not deletion
When a server is stopped for low credit:
- The server is stopped cleanly, the same as if you'd stopped it yourself.
- Your save data is kept — nothing is deleted.
- Your balance simply stops being charged; it never goes below zero.
You can start the server again as soon as you top up — see Buying Credits.
Avoiding interruptions
To keep a server running continuously, make sure your balance stays ahead of the hourly rate:
- Check your balance on the Console — see Checking Your Balance.
- Top up before it gets too low.
- Consider a smaller size if you want a lower hourly rate.
